My attitude for each day will rub off on the students. I will bring an enthusiastic and positive attitude to each day.
I will engage my students by molding my lessons to properly fit the class, their interests, backgrounds and level of ability.
I will make the classroom safe and inviting so students feel comfortable and are open to learning.
I will have a reward system for students to keep students engaged and following the classroom rules.
During my first six week clinical, Bamber Valley Elementary used “positives”. When students are following the Bamber Valley Way, students will receive a positive slip. The slip is turned into the office and winners are selected at the end of the week. This worked very well and I will use this in my classroom if the school does not do something similar.
Many teachers use Class Dojo on the iPad. Class Dojo is an app that teachers can use to give students points for working hard and positive behavior. I have observed this in the classroom and students respond well to this. I would love to use this in my classroom.
